Who We Are

What is PPE?

Purposeful Parent Education (PPE) supports staff at school districts and other organizations by providing training and curriculum in order to empower parents to develop their parenting skills.

What is the history of PPE?

Originally, a company by the name of Practical Parent Education was established in 1984 as a partnership with the City of Plano, Texas, Plano Independent School District, and a group of community business leaders. Its mission was to help families raise emotionally healthy children who would go to school ready to learn. From there, Practical Parent Education expanded its reach throughout the U.S. and internationally.

In 2024, Practical Parent Education became Purposeful Parent Education as new leaders embarked on a mission to honor the legacy of the established content while refreshing the curriculum to emphasize a strengths-based approach for today’s diverse families and by expanding client services for ongoing support.

What does our logo mean?

The design of the Purposeful Parent Education logo is strategic and deeply significant. The use of a tree is a nod to the former company and symbolizes the roots to its origin. The roots symbolize our respect for families’ cultures, languages, and heritages. The tree itself signifies growth, development, and resilience within families. Embedded within its branches is the image of a family, representing the diversity of family structures and the universal journey of parenting with purpose. Our logo is more than just a design—it’s a reflection of who we are: anchored in legacy, growing with intention, and embracing every kind of family.
