Viana Armstrong, M.Ed. is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PPE.
Viana’s connection to Practical Parent Education began in 1992 as a parent educator for a school district in North Texas. Upon her retirement from public education in 2020, she began working for Practical Parent Education as a trainer. Throughout her educational career she has supported the implementation and expansion of Practical Parent Education across the U.S. Her passion for the curriculum led to her involvement in the development of Purposeful Parent Education.
Viana holds a bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and is certified in Early Childhood-Sixth Grade, ESL and Bilingual programs. She holds a Masters’ Degree from Texas Woman’s University in Supervision in Bilingual and ESL Programs. In her 35 year career, she has taught in general education, bilingual, dual language and ESL programs with students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. She has been a Bilingual & ESL Coordinator/Supervisor for two districts and a virtual school for the past 10 years.
Viana was an Adjunct Professor for Texas A&M University Commerce for nine years where she fostered her passion for multilingual learners in her future educators.
Viana’s enthusiastic and passionate personality have made her a sought-after speaker at conferences across Dallas/Fort Worth. She has presented at many conferences, moderated and participated on panel discussions for the Region 10 Educational Service Center, BEAM Conference and TAMU Virtual Texas Education Summit and more. She has been interviewed for the Boosting Achievement and Supporting Multilingual Learners’ Podcasts.
